Lucy is a writer and spoken word artist from Manchester. Her debut play Glitter Punch had sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017 and London’s Vault Festival 2018 where it won the People’s Choice Award. Glitter Punch was also shortlisted for the Bolton Octagon Top Five Season. It is published by Nick Hern Books and was optioned for treatment by Little Dot Studios in 2018. Lucy’s play Weird premiered at London’s Arcola Theatre before completing sell out runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2018 where it was shortlisted for the Social Impact (Sit-Up) Award and the les Enfants Terribles Stepladder award. Weird transferred to the Soho Theatre in December 2018. In 2019 Lucy was commissioned by the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts to write a new play for their graduating acting students, this became I Am Not A Bird I Cannot Fly an explosive exploration of incarcerated young women in the north of England. From 2017-2018 Lucy was a member of the Soho Theatre Writers Lab and from 2019-2020 she was a member of the BBC Drama Room, where she developed her original drama pilot script Sisterhood. In June 2020 Lucy’s debut radio play Ghosts was broadcast on BBC Radio 3. She is thrilled to be a part of the Sweet, Bloody Mary team.
